Tree of Life worked with the U.S. Department of Defense in the early planning phases for a program called the Iraq Engineers Enhancement Program (IEEP). The program is a public-private partnership aimed to significantly further reconstruction efforts in Iraq by selecting Iraqi engineers to intern with universities and private sector engineering firms in the United States. The selected engineers spend three to six months training and working with their host institutions and are dedicated to returning to contribute to Iraq’s reconstruction efforts upon completion of the internship.
